je me réveille tôt sans
vous qui êtes
dans une pièce tout
abricot & cerise. En
portugais c’est très
très poétique.
Toutes ces petites bouteilles
emportant des messages entortillés —
Ne me laisse pas
traduire ces choses:
le marin, le port
le rivage. Allez,
prends le bateau. Prends
le sel, prends tout entier
le courbe océan. Tu sais
que tu ne pourras quitter
ce que tu as vécu.

Marci Vogel is a Provost Fellow in the University of Southern California’s PhD Program in Creative Writing & Literature. Her poetry has received nominations for the Best New Poets anthology, the Pushcart Prize, and the AWP Intro Journals Award. She was invited as a guest poet at L’École des Beaux Arts in Tours, France, and was awarded a fellowship to return to Tours this past summer.
