Do you hear voices? If you are a writer, chances are that you do.  And that’s a good thing. How can you build upon and fine-tune those voices for your writing projects?

In this weekend of intensive workshops we will explore the wide variety of strategies available for writers to bring readers in closer to their works through voice.  Open to fiction writers, nonfiction writers, even poets.

Suzy Vitello: In Suzy’s workshop, we’ll dive into the elements of reader seduction. We’ll look at syntactical strategies and ways of building authority sentence-by-sentence. Then, you will use the techniques to experiment on your own work. At the end of the day, you’ll have a line of flight on a piece (or two) and a toolbox of strategies to use in your work going forward.

Lidia Yuknavitch:  Participants in this day-long workshop will go through a series of three exercises specifically designed to invent, grow, and amplify narrative voice.  Specifically we’ll zoom in on point of view, style, and formal options.  You will leave the workshop with three voice-driven pieces for future manifestations, and a deeper sense of how to develop voice in already existing work.

Each workshop has a 15 person limit and runs concurrently; day two, we switch groups.

Payment: Payment may be made with credit card, cash, check, or through paypal
